HKSAI Strengthens Citizen Action Through Access to Information Training
Advancing Transparency Through Capacity Building
Yesterday we were delighted to participate in a capacity-building session on the Access to Information (ATI) Act convened by TISA through the KAS TUNU Project. The training brought together participants committed to strengthening transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance.

Equipping Citizens with the Right Tools
The session enhanced participants' understanding of the Access to Information Act and provided practical skills on how to prepare and submit Access to Information requests. These skills empower citizens to access public information, engage constructively with public institutions, and advocate for improved service delivery.
Turning Knowledge into Accountability
One of the key outcomes of the training was participants' commitment to use the ATI Act to monitor stalled and incomplete public projects. By requesting information from public institutions, citizens can promote responsible use of public resources and ensure that development commitments translate into tangible results for communities.

Strengthening Citizen Oversight
The Access to Information Act is a powerful instrument for enhancing public oversight. It enables citizens to demand transparency, participate meaningfully in governance processes, and hold public institutions accountable for their decisions and actions.
HKSAI's Commitment to Good Governance
HKSAI remains dedicated to empowering communities with the knowledge and skills needed to champion transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance. Through continued civic education and advocacy, the organization is fostering informed citizens who actively contribute to better public service delivery.
A Shared Vision for Transparent Governance
The knowledge and commitments gained from this training represent an important step towards building a culture of transparency and accountability. By exercising their right to access information, citizens become active partners in promoting good governance and sustainable development. Empowered citizens are the driving force behind transparent, accountable, and responsive institutions.
